QUCONSOLES for devices without login option
QUCONSOLES is for devices that can't connect to the QUINCY network because they don't use a username and password.
This includes things like TVs, game consoles, and smart home devices like Alexa.
To connect to QUCONSOLES, there’s no password. Instead, you need to register your device using the Device Registration Self-Assistance Portal.
*If you're returning to campus after a long break (like summer or winter), you might need to re-register your devices, as they can be removed from the system if they haven’t been connected for a while
1) On a device that is connected to the QUINCY network, go to clearpass.quincy.edu. Login using your Quincy University Username and Password.
2) After login, go to Create Device.
On a computer, this will be in the sidebar on the left of the screen. On mobile, you will need to click Back to Main at the bottom of the page, then Create Device.
3) Find the MAC Address of the device you are trying to connect.
To find your device's MAC address, check the network settings or look for a sticker on the device. A MAC address is unique to each device and typically looks like this: 1A:2B:3C:4D:5E:6F. It’s different from an IP address.
If you're unsure where to find it, you can search online with a phrase like "Playstation 4 MAC address location." If your device shows multiple MAC addresses, make sure to use the one labeled "Wireless," "WiFi, or "WLAN" for registration.
4) Register your device in Create Device portal area.
You only need to fill in the required blank and hit "Create"
5) Repeat the process for all devices you wish to connect to QUCONSOLES. You can check your devices on the Manage Devices page
*The QUCONSOLES wireless network and residential ethernet network does not support some online game play types and features for cybersecurity reasons.
If you need assistance connecting your devices, you can contact the IT department by email at helpdesk@quincy.edu or by phone at 217-228-5250.
